Mason Jars Turned Elegant Barware

August 13th, 2009 · Feeding, Other

drink jars

We have recently become mildly addicted to Trader Joes Sparkling Pink Lemonade. But I can’t help but thinking how much more delicious it would be in one of these adorable mason drink jars. I also thought these would be super cute for a summer party, unfortunately I don’t think the kids at my son’s birthday party will be able to drink from these with out spilling everywhere. Someday I will incorporate this idea into a kids party.

Poster Brain

If you have looked at the price of having an image blown up to poster size at your local copy center, you have probably passed out from sticker shock. I recently discovered Poster Brain, via Becoming Mom. It is a quick and inexpensive option for getting poster-sized images. She used Poster Brain to make a pin the tail on the monkey game for her son’s birthday. I plan to steal her idea of ordering inexpensive posters for my son’s birthday party decor. And of course I cannot wait to see how Jaspers Mod Monkey Party turns out.

Baby Bingo

baby bingo

I just went to a wonderful baby shower for my cousins this weekend to celebrate their adoption of a beautiful baby boy. In my family, the dice game (kind of like a white elephant gift exchange) is the all time favorite shower game. But I am loving the idea of this Baby Bingo game by Cluster Design and you cannot beat the adorable illustrated bingo cards. All in one box you get 24 bingo cards, 32 calling cards, 250 bingo chips for $35. 12-player sets are also available. The best part is the pieces can be stored in a box for the next baby shower.

DIY Lisa Rupp Baby Blanket

August 10th, 2009 · Bedding

LisaRupp-blanket

Illustrator extraordinaire, Lisa Rupp, created this gorgeous baby blanket for her tiny one featuring one of her illustrations. She now offers the fabric panel for sale in her shop so you can make your own. In addition to the front fabric panel, she offers two different fabric options for the back of the blanket. You can make your own version for $77 + the cost of batting. If you have a girl, I think this is a beautiful must-have blanket.

There is something so sweet and innocent about the surreal works of art by Melissa Moss. I think they would be perfectly dreamy in a nursery or kids room. My favorites are You’re the Best and Chie.

Upholstered Toddler Bed – Set of 2 for Under $75

August 6th, 2009 · Furniture, How To, Nursery Style

As my son nears age 2, and 36 inches tall (big enough to crawl out of the crib), I have begun to search for the perfect toddler bed. I want something modern, but for a bed he is only likely to use for a few years, I also want something reasonably priced. Recently Design Sponge featured the perfect solution that Design Mom came up with for two of her kids.

designmombeds

With $75, some Crypton Fabric, and a little elbow grease, Design Mom created a pair of incredible toddler beds that are modern and affordable. They look fabulous!!! Since they are low to the floor and padded they are relatively safe if your tiny one rolls out of bed. The Crypton Super Fabric is stain-resistant and anti-bacterial making it super durable for tiny ones.

Don’t these look so yummy? I am thinking of adding these to the menu for my son’s birthday party. I think they’d be a crowd pleaser, especially if it is a hot day. Learn how to make your own on Instructables.
