This is a genius DIY idea! Turn any play table into a
chalkboard play table. The one shown here is an
Ikea Svala set (only $39.99) inexpensively transformed with stain and chalkboard paint. For something even more unique consider painting the set your child’s favorite color or even using
colored chalkboard paint.

The popular eco-friendly kids funiture manufacturer, Spot On Square, has released TWO new furniture collections. Their complete line now offers something for every taste and price point. The
new Eicho collection is perfect for the modern minimalist with clean white lines. I am personally drawn to the
new Roh Collection (shown above). The
Roh crib features innovative clear acrylic side rails framed in walnut. The
matching walnut dresser has an optional changing table.

I think everyone is always on the lookout for inexpensive art, but how does free sound?
Feed Your Soul: The Free Art Project offers free downloads updated monthly from popular artists. My current favorites are by
Amy Ruppel and
Shera Sela. Downloads are free for personal use allowing you to print them at home. Many of the prints would be wonderful in a nursery.

I am a huge fan of
embroidery hoop art and I think
this ceiling installation is amazing! I have been dying to use embroidery hoop art somewhere in my home so I am not exaggerating when I say this is at the top of my list for my next nursery or kids room design. It adds amazing visual interest for baby to look at and would be perfect for disguising an unsightly popcorn textured ceiling. See the rest of this amazing nursery
here on Flickr.

It has been a while since I have shared a real nursery, but I couldn’t pass this one up. Misty Vento from
Lime Blossom Naturals has done it again with this unexpected slate blue and hot pink girl’s nursery. I love how the butterfly decals and wall art helps soften the bold wall color. And I really like the pop of hot pink in the adjoining bathroom. What a lucky little girl.

I have recently become addicted to
Film In the Fridge blog by Ashley where she chronicles her quilt making endeavors. I know, I know… I have previously stated that I am not a quilt person, but I am coming around. I love her most recent quirky and cute
“Boots For Elephants” Baby Quilt. She used a Marimekko fabric panel for the front with a fun-striped quilt design for the back. She has several amazing baby quilts up for sale in
her shop and although a bit pricey what price can you really put on an heirloom? By the way, since I do much web browsing on my iPhone I also really appreciate Ashley’s mobile-friendly shop.

I absolutely adore miniaturized furniture for kids and this
Lucy Sectional by Boom is at the top of my list. We have a very similar adult-sized sectional in our family room. As we consider moving up to a larger home we daydream of a playroom or loft area where we can put the Lucy.

These make me want to learn to knit. They look so warm and comfy. I love the modern contrast border. For a how-to to make your own Purl Bee offers the
Bulky Baby Blanket Journal detailing the perfect yarns for the project and amazing step by step images and instructions. I might give this one a try as it starts to get colder in the fall.

I don’t know where I would put this right now, but I want it. The
ribbon coat rack is elegant and whimsical at the same time. I think this would make a gorgeous coat rack for a girl’s nursery.
