The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines eco-conscious as “marked by or showing concern for the environment”. Eco-friendly is not in the dictionary, but it is a widely used term. So just what is the difference between eco-conscious and eco-friendly?

VOCs or Volatile Organic Compounds, are chemicals emitted as gases into the air. Many household items emit VOCs including paint, wood finishes and carpeting. Since concentration of VOCs are considerably higher indoors, reducing VOCs in indoor air has become an important health concern. Many manufacturers are now offering low-VOC or no-VOC alternatives.
