A Different Way to Shop Etsy for Kids

My new membership in Etsy Kids has given me a new outlook on how to use Etsy. We all know searching for something specific on Etsy can be daunting. Search results are not displayed by order of relevance or popularity, but rather by the date the item was listed. So if you are looking for a baby blanket and you type “baby blanket” in the search field you will get 1030 pages of results…yikes! For a better way to shop, consider focusing your search by adding one of the Etsy team tags to your search. For example, if you search “baby blankets EtsyKids“, you get only 43 result pages from shops that belong to the EtsyKids team.

Etsy Teams are “groups of organized Etsy members who network, share skills, and promote their shops and Etsy together. A Team forms around a shared location, crafting medium, or another interest.” If you are a seller I highly recommend taking advantage of teams for the networking and promotional opportunities.

If you are a buyer, I highly recommend learning about the different Etsy Teams that specialize in the products you are looking to buy. Start by looking through the Etsy Teams Profile page. Most teams have a blog where they post about new products and specials. Many also have a Twitter feed letting you know when a shop owner on the team has listed a new item. Also, all teams have a team tag that you can use to search for items from that team.

etsykids2If you are looking for great kids products on Etsy, start with the Etsy Kids team. We have a website and blog dedicated to stylish designs with kids in mind. To find items handmade by members of the Etsy Kids team add the tag “etsykids” to your search. The result will be a more refined selection of the best handmade kids products on Etsy.

Great post! Welcome to the Etsy Kids team too! I was just writing an Etsy favorites post on my blog that will feature members of the Etsy Kids team, and I will link to your blog post.
