I was blown away by this recent Nursery Style submission. Misty Vento, owner of Lime Blossom Naturals, designed this totally eco-friendly play porch for a friend. I love the color scheme and the enchanting tree mural.

What inspired the theme or color scheme of your nursery?
My girlfriend who I did this eco-friendly playroom for is known in her circle for LOVING orange and lime green. She unfortunately was going through a rough time splitting with her husband and this room used to be the “man porch” with her husbands stuff. So we made it a fun playroom for the kids. And needed something that would appeal to both boy and girl. The other side is totally windows and you can see tonz of trees so we decided to bring the outdoors in with the two trees on the wall.

What is your favorite thing in the nursery besides your tiny one?
The repurposed cork board was painted with magnetic paint first then chalkboard paint. And the wall behind the bookcase is eco-friendly cork tiles so the kids can hang their artwork. I am proud that everything in the room is either eco-friendly, non-toxic or repurposed. And of course the cool canvas that says “Campbell & Cadens Corner”.

What makes your nursery eco-friendly?
Everything!! The lime green walls are Sherwin Williams Harmony no-VOC paint over stucco, which is actually the outside of the house and the rest of the walls are natural wood with just windows for the top half. The rug is repurposed t-shirt shag. The baskets in the bookcases are made of bamboo. And the furniture is all green from Eco-Tots and Plan Toys table and kitchen set. Now this is the “Play Porch”.

I wish I had a play porch for my son. What a dream!
