My Office Redesign (Part 1): Orange Crush

June 20th, 2008 · No Comments

CB2 Go-Cart Collection

Now that I am working from home, I realize how desperately the home office needs a makeover. Since it is one half of our family room it must look perfect with lots of neat storage and be baby-friendly. We plan to repaint the entire space in a light blue inspired by our trip to the Tower23 Hotel in San Diego. The perfect compliment to the light blue is orange. I am crushing on some great orange pieces for the space and I just had to share.

Go-cart Desk

CB2 has this awesome Go-Cart Collection made of sheet steel with a mandarin powder coat finish. The casters will allow me flexibility. I want the desk and the bookcase. If I had a huge studio to work with I would get three of the bookcases for a huge amount of storage. I like that the desk is free of drawers so my little one won’t be at my feet trying to get in them. I plan to keep toys or kids book on the bottom shelves of the bookcase.

Room and Board Script Rug

To tie the office into the family room I crave the Script Rug from Room and Board. All of their wool rugs are responsibly made and certified-child free. I need an 8×10 and at $999 you can bet I will be trolling the Room and Board Outlet for one of these at a discounted price.

Area Daisy Pillow

I also love the Daisy Pillow by Area in Orange. It is pure linen with a feather/down insert. These will find a good home on the dark gray couch we already have in the space.
