Anamalz are the cutest wooden toys I have ever seen. A very good friend of mine, to whose daughter my son is jokingly betrothed (because we think it would be cute if they grew up and fell in love), got my son his first three Anamalz for his birthday. I say “first three” because I already know he will be getting more. I am already picking out which ones I want to get him for Christmas.

Anamalz is an award-winning range of environmentally-friendly wooden toys handmade in Australia from organic maple wood and various textiles. Anamalz have positionable limbs so they can look left and right, up and down and stand in different poses. Anamalz are manufactured using renewable resources, non-toxic glues and paints. A portion of the proceeds supports wildlife organizations around the world.

The Anamalz Range includes 10 Wild Anamalz, 10 Farm Anamalz, and 7 Australian Anamalz. They also have various boxed sets. If you look up your Anamalz on the website you will be treated with the Anamalz name and cool facts about the real animal. For instance, the giraffe is named Raffe and did you know giraffe only have seven vertebrae in the neck? That’s the same number as any other mammal.
So the only thing holding you back from getting Anamalz…limited availability in the US. A quick search on Amazon reveals part of the Wild Anamalz and Farm Anamalz ranges. I also found a rather complete selection at Dots Toys.

A single Anamalz toy retails for $5.95. Dots Toys has the above set of 12 (mix of wild and farm Anamalz) for $69.95.
Anamalz are recommended for ages 3 and up because they are made with small parts that could pose a choking hazard. I personally allow my one year old to play with them while supervised.
