I wrote about the Beaba Babycook here as soon as i found out about it, but never thought I would be able to afford one. Thanks to my wonderful in-laws, I am now the proud owner of a Beaba Babycook. I love it! I always try to make homemade food for my baby, but before the Babycook I rarely did. The Babycook has made it easy for me to cook baby food on a whim and I only have to clean one appliance when I am done.
Last night I made my son chicken, eggplant, and sweet potato in the Babycook. The diced food was steamed for 15 minutes and then I added a teaspoon of butter and pureed it, all with one appliance. My son loved it. He ate a full bowl non-stop, which is unheard of for him. I had enough leftover to freeze two more portions. My son loves homemade food and with the Babycook I love making it for him.

The Babycook also looks cute on my counter and I plan to leave it out for easy access. They only make it in green with orange accents. It is compact and stylish. In the US the Beaba Babycook is only available through Williams-Sonoma. We had to go to multiple stores to find one that had it in stock.

Hello,
The ‘babycook’ is very popular here in France. All of our friends use one, and meal are delicious wihtout any toxic product for the baby. We decided to build a website to publish receipts only for the Babycook. Please have a look here : http://www.gastromome.com and let us know what you think about it. Cheers. I was about to purchase the Babycook but found a website that stated the plastic used is not BPA free. Please let me know if you know any additional information on this.

Jane, I have heard the same regarding BPA plastic in the Beaba babycook. I decided to purchase it anyway. I was more interested in making homemade fresh food for my son than giving him off-the-shelf baby food that lacked variety and had preservatives. It was a personal choice to ignore the BPA in this case. There are of course other ways to make baby food, like steamer and a blender which I used to use. But I made it much less frequently and relied on store-bought food more often than I do with my Beaba.

I just came across this article which seems to clear up the BPA issue- though I suppose you can never really trust what you read….
