Think Baby Training Cups Not as Good as Born Free

Think Baby

While at Pacifier this weekend, we picked up a Think Baby training cup. I had high hopes for this bottle with such a great name and stylish orange color. But after just one try we decided we did not like it as much as the Born Free bottles.

The Think Baby bottle is a BPA and phthalate-free bottle. It comes in a great orange color that I love. It is lighter weight than the Born Free bottles. It does not have intricate air vent parts like Born Free, making it much easier to wash just a bottle and nipple. The training cup comes with easy to grip handles, but they are not very easy to get on and off the bottle.

Think Baby Training Spout

Born Free Training Spout

We tried out the Think Baby training spout (pictured top) and were very disappointed that it collapses during a feeding unlike the Born Free training spout (pictured bottom). The spout is very soft and pliable, unlike the Born Free spouts which are thicker, but still pliable and teething safe. The Think Baby spout collapsed during the feeding and made it more difficult to suck on. Think Baby claims the soft spout eases the transition from bottle feeding to sippy cups, but I found the spout was even softer than most nipples and if anything might be a step backward. I do not feel the Think Baby spout prepares a baby to drink from a rigid sippy cup. Think Baby also does not make a drinking spout like Born Free does. I guess they assume you can go right from their training bottle to a cup.
Orange Born Free Training Cup

If it was Born Free vs. Think Baby, Born Free would win hands down. Even though there are more parts to wash, the Born Free bottles and spouts seem more durable. I like that Born Free offers both a training spout and drinking spout that can be used with the same bottles. The Born Free training cup also comes in orange, as well as three other colors.
